The Directors of Counselling are highly qualified and experienced Clinicians as well as Administrators. All Directors carry a caseload of clinical cases as well as directly case-managing all Counsellor/Therapists on their teams. The Directors meet on a monthly basis to ensure consistency and quality of standards of the National Counselling Service.
All our Clinical Staff are highly qualified Counsellors. They have a range of professional backgrounds which include general and psychiatric nursing, medicine, social work and psychology. The National Counselling Service has a Counsellor Forum which meets on a regular basis to discuss work related issues and acts as a think-tank to represent colleagues’ views to the Directors Group.
In some areas the NCS Team includes a Social Worker. Their role is pivotal in facilitating and supporting clients’ welfare needs as well as using their counselling skills to enable clients to achieve an enhanced quality of life.
Our Administrators are trained to listen to your call and re-direct your enquiry to the appropriate staff member. They also have regular meetings national as well as training events to develop their understanding and experience and provide peer support to one another.
